Course Overview
The Construction Worker Safety course offered by the American Institute of Safety Professionals employees training on OSHA §1926.20 General Safety and Health Provisions. This allows employees to help in keeping workplaces safe and OSHA compliant. This course recognizes that employers and subcontractors are legally responsible for making sure that no employee performs any task in unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous conditions. This training teaches safe use and management of tools, materials, and machinery. This course teaches workers how to control unsafe tools by tagging, locking, and removing them. It also provides that only qualified workers should operate certain machinery. Workers learn about the OSHA rules. This teaches them how to use any general OSHA standard or standard rules that are more specific and legally required. This also teaches that every employee must be responsible for giving job related training and PPE to each employee in addition to job training on hazard identification, prevention, and safe work practices.
