- Introduction to Lead Safety in Construction: Overview of lead and its hazards in construction environments, importance of lead safety in construction
- Understanding Lead: Properties and characteristics of lead, the health effects of lead exposure, OSHA regulations regarding lead exposure
- Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: Techniques for identifying and assessing lead hazards in construction environments, evaluation of the potential consequences of lead exposure
- Control Measures: Engineering controls to reduce lead exposure, work practices to reduce lead exposure, personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and its proper use
- Respiratory Protection:Identifying the need for respiratory protection, selection, fit-testing, and maintenance of respiratory protection equipment, proper use and care of respirators
- Housekeeping and Clean-Up: Proper cleaning methods to reduce lead exposure, procedures for disposing of lead-containing materials
- Training and Communication: Importance of safety training for workers on lead hazards, communication of lead safety policies and procedures, employee engagement and feedback
