Learning Outcomes

- Demonstrate the process of filing a complaint in case of safety violations or hazardous conditions encountered at the workplace.
- Identify and recognize various job-related hazards commonly found on general industry job sites and understand their potential risks and consequences.
- Implement effective strategies to mitigate, avoid, and control hazards to promote a safer work environment.
- Utilize hazard abatement techniques and preventive measures to reduce the likelihood of accidents, injuries, and illnesses.
- Differentiate between hazard identification, avoidance, and control measures, and OSHA standards, with an emphasis on prioritizing hazard prevention over mere compliance.
- Apply the knowledge acquired during the training to real-life scenarios, making informed decisions to enhance safety practices at their job sites.

Mode of Delivery
Course Content
Training should emphasize on the following contents;
Mandatory Topics - 6 hours
1. Introduction to OSHA/Local Government Agencies – 1 hour:
overview of the policies and regulations set by these organizations to ensure the health and safety of employees in the workplace. Covers the purpose and scope of OSHA or local government agencies, including its role in enforcing occupational safety standards, inspecting workplaces, and providing education and outreach to employers and employees.
2. Walking and Working Surfaces, including fall protection – 1 hour
3. Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, and Fire Protection – 1 hour
4. Electrical – 1 hour
5. Personal Protective Equipment – 1 hour
6. Hazard Communication – 1 hour
Elective Topics - 2 hours
The trainer must present at least two hours of training on the following topics. At least two topics must be presented. The minimum length of any topic is one-half hour.
a) Hazardous Materials
b) Materials Handling
c) Machine Guarding
d) Introduction to Industrial Hygiene
e) Bloodborne Pathogens
f) Ergonomics
g) Safety and Health Program
h) Fall Protection
Optional Topics - 2 hours
Teach other general industry hazards or policies and/or expand on the mandatory or elective topics. The minimum length of any topic is one-half hour.
