This course is designed to develop for people who run and work in small engineering workshops, ranging from those who make their own products and to those who maintain and repair plant and machinery either independently or as part of larger enterprises. It is intended to help them manage their own health and safety and work in safer and healthier ways. As engineering is a wide-ranging activity the course does not deal with every hazard which may arise or every precaution which can be taken. It does, however, outline the most serious and frequent hazards and the best ways of dealing with them. Instructional contact-time must be a minimum of 8 hours.
