This course is designed to prevent incidents related to highly hazardous chemicals. Through effective management of these chemicals — which include gases or liquids that are flammable, toxic, or reactive — employers can prevent serious harm to workers and the public. Instructional contact-time must be a minimum of 8 hours.

  4. Process Safety Information (PSI) and Operating Procedures: The importance of process safety information and operating procedures in PSM, how to develop and maintain process safety information and operating procedures
  5. Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Incident Investigation: The role of process hazard analysis in PSM, techniques for conducting process hazard analysis and incident investigations, how to identify and correct incident causes
  6. Mechanical Integrity and Maintenance: The importance of mechanical integrity and maintenance in PSM, how to ensure the integrity of process equipment and systems, proper maintenance procedures and practices
  7. Employee Participation and Training: The importance of employee participation and training in PSM, how to involve employees in PSM activities and provide training on PSM procedures and regulations
  8. Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR): The role of management of change and pre-startup safety review in PSM, how to properly conduct a management of change and pre-startup safety review
  9. Emergency Planning and Response: The importance of emergency planning and response in PSM, how to develop and implement emergency response plans, emergency preparedness and response training
  10. Conclusion: Recap of the importance of Process Safety Management (PSM) in the workplace, the role of PSM in preventing chemical incidents

Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.
