This course is designed to focus on the safe and effective management of waste materials in the workplace. The course covers topics such as waste classification and segregation, safe handling and storage of waste, and the use of appropriate waste disposal methods. The objective of the course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage waste materials safely and efficiently, minimize the risk of accidents and injuries, and comply with relevant regulations and standards. The course may also address the importance of sustainability and waste reduction in the waste management process. . Instructional contact-time must be a minimum of 8 hours.

  2. Waste Management Regulations and Standards: Overview of federal, state, and local regulations and standards that govern waste management and disposal, how to ensure compliance with waste management regulations and standards
  3. Types of Waste and Identification: Overview of the different types of waste that are commonly encountered in various industries, including hazardous waste, medical waste, and electronic waste,techniques for identifying and classifying different types of waste
  4. Collection and Storage: Proper procedures for collecting and storing waste in accordance with regulations and industry standards,how to properly label and store waste to prevent contamination and ensure safe handling
  5. Transportation and Disposal: Proper procedures for transporting and disposing of waste in accordance with regulations and industry standards, how to properly document and record the transportation and disposal of waste
  6.  Hazardous Waste Management: Overview of the regulations and standards that govern the management and disposal of hazardous waste, Proper procedures for handling, storing, and disposing of hazardous waste
  7. Medical Waste Management: Overview of the regulations and standards that govern the management and disposal of medical waste, proper procedures for handling, storing, and disposing of medical waste
  8. Electronic Waste Management: Overview of the regulations and standards that govern the management and disposal of electronic waste, proper procedures for handling, storing, and disposing of electronic waste
  9. Spill Response and Cleanup: Procedures for responding to and cleaning up spills of waste materials, how to properly contain and dispose of spilled materials to prevent environmental damage and protect the health and safety of workers
  10. Auditing and Compliance: Techniques for conducting audits and inspections to ensure compliance with waste management regulations and standards, how to identify and address non-compliance and implement corrective actions.

Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.
