Course Overview
The Ergonomics Program Management course offered by the American Institute of Safety Professionals trains individuals on the management of ergonomics by preventing Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) while promoting the employment of safe and efficient workplace ergonomics. As some of the most predominant workplace health issues regardless of the industry, MSDs impact soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, and ligaments, as well as the nerves, blood vessels, and other structures. Employees who perform repetitive tasks, bend, lift heavy items, or maintain awkward postures while working are more likely to incur Musculoskeletal injuries. This course assists safety specialists, supervisors, and employees in spotting the most significant ergonomic risk elements, performing workplace ergonomics assessments, and implementing control measures to fit tasks with the capabilities of workers. Frameworks on ergonomic design, task modification, and the active role of employees in establishing a sustainable ergonomics policy are outlined. The course focuses on practical techniques in enhancing workplace comfort, productivity, and efficiency.” Participants in this course will be capable of designing, implementing, and maintaining workplace ergonomics programs aimed at the proactive prevention of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), ensuring the safety of the employee, and generating an atmosphere of ongoing improvement in the safety, health, and productivity of the workplace.
