Learning Outcomes
Upon completing this program, participants will be able to:
- Conduct fire risk assessments: identifying ignition sources, fuel sources, and the conditions that bring them together, evaluating fire protection adequacy, and prioritising fire prevention investments.
- Govern the fire prevention programme: housekeeping standards, hot work permit management, electrical safety, flammable material storage, and the programme oversight that prevents fires from starting.
- Manage fire protection systems: overseeing the ITM (inspection, testing, maintenance) programme for sprinklers, detection, alarms, and portable extinguishers, and ensuring system readiness at all times.
- Manage the fire warden programme: selecting wardens, providing training, defining duties (sweep areas, guide evacuation, report to assembly), conducting drills, and evaluating warden performance.
- Lead emergency response during fire events: evacuation decision-making, assembly and headcount, fire department interface, critical operations shutdown, and the command responsibility that managers carry during fire emergencies.
