Course Overview
The Scaffolding Inspector course offered by the American Institute of Safety Professionals aims at giving all safety professionals, supervisors, and competent persons the tools, knowledge, and skills needed to assure scaffolding systems are safe, compliant, and sound per OSHA standards, 29 CFR 1926.451 - Scaffolds. Subsequently, this course will inform stakeholders of their responsibilities delineated in the OSHA General Duty Clause to maintain the safety of the working environment while scaffolds are erected, utilized, and taken down by qualified personnel. Involves scaffolding systems, hazardous components, planking, guardrail, brace, and anchor point inspections, and the identification of unstable and improperly assembled scaffolds. It ensures knowledge of various types of scaffolds, their load limitations, and accessibility while keeping regulations to protect employees from fatal falls, falling objects, electrocution, and other scaffolding related to- kill hazardous materials. It teaches the enforcement of corrective actions, removal, and scaffolds tagging, locking, and documenting unsafe scaffolds as per §1926.20 - General Safety and Health Provisions.
